Sinusitis is a condition that occurs when the sinus cavities develop infections caused by viruses, bacteria or even some types of fungi.
Sore throat is one of the most common symptoms of colds and allergies, and it can occur for many other reasons as well.
Here at Center for Ear, Nose & Throat, P.C. we combine our years of education, surgical know how and continuing education to bring out your natural beauty. At our plastic surgery center we:
Surgical and non-surgical treatments include:
Sleep apnea has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack and stroke.
Snoring may be an indication of a more serious problem such as sleep apnea. Snoring and sleep apnea may be due to nasal obstruction, throat blockage or nasal and throat blockage.
Everyone who suffers from allergies knows how uncomfortable they can be. Most know the common symptoms associated with allergies such as a runny nose, itchy, watery eyes, nasal congestion and sneezing. Allergies can also be the root cause for chronic sinus infections, dizziness, sore throats, headaches and fatigue.
Our allergy therapy will begin with a complete, thorough evaluation of your condition as well as an oral history breakdown. Dr. Kin may either prescribe antihistamines and/or nasal sprays or may advise an allergy test. These allergy tests can be performed either through RAST or skin testing. Skin testing is the preferred method of choice due to the fact that the results are available immediately.
We begin by performing small injections under the skin of the upper arm of different inhalant allergens such as dust, molds and pollen. Allergens that result in a positive reaction will cause the injection site to increase in size. We further test these positive results to gain a better, more accurate idea of the proper strength of allergy serum used for immunotherapy after testing.
Immunotherapy begins two weeks after testing. These allergy shots/drops are given weekly for 6-12 months then progress to every 2-4 weeks. Through the use of these shots/drops, your body will begin to form antibodies which results in a decreased sensitivity when exposed to the offending allergen. Typically, patients undergo immunotherapy for 3-5 years but the time period will vary based on the patients specific situation.
At Center for Ear, Nose & Throat, P.C., we combine the use of medication, immunotherapy and environmental control to help our patients feel as comfortable as possible. With Dr. Kin’s over 20 years of experience, he provides customers with much needed relief from the discomfort of allergies.
